About This Spot

V & M Bar and Campground in Rice Lake offers a quietly inviting retreat where the hum of community and easygoing nights come together. From the moment you arrive, there’s a tangible sense of stepping into a place where stories unfold around shared tables and crackling fire pits under open skies. The pace here slows down naturally, encouraging visitors to settle in, whether at the bar or beside their tents, and simply ease into the evening.

The bar itself carries a laid-back, neighborhood feel—unpretentious and warm—with a friendly energy that welcomes both locals and travelers alike. Here, the drinks aren’t just beverages; they're a small celebration of local character. The Bloody Marys, infused with a thoughtful blend of jalapeno, horseradish, and garlic, mingle savory and spice in a way that feels like a comforting embrace after a day’s adventure. The tap beer offerings complement this, bringing a refreshing simplicity that pairs well with easy conversation.

Beyond the bar, the campground adds a layer of rustic charm, nestled among gently rolling open spaces and clusters of trees that encourage connection around shared fires. It’s a place that invites lingering, where lawn upkeep is a quietly shared responsibility among renters, contributing to the welcoming environment. Amenities like bathrooms and shower facilities hint at the sense of home away from home, while the seasonal rhythms—quiet in winter, lively in summer—reflect an authentic connection to place.

In V & M Bar and Campground, moments feel genuine and unhurried, whether you’re stopping in for a fresh, satisfying bite or unwinding by the fire with neighbors. It’s a space that appreciates the small joys of good company, thoughtful drinks, and evenings that stretch just a little longer.

Excellent Bloody Mary's! Vodka is infused with jalapeno, horseradish and garlic. Yummy. Cheese and sausage slice, pickle, olives etc...and a hard boiled egg on the side. The bartender was great too. She was new, but did an excellent job.

The campground seems nice. A lot of year round units there. Looks to be a bathroom and shower house. Shut down in the winter up here. Flat, a drive around, some trees. Looks like a nice place to kick back, visit with other folks relaxing fire pits. Upkeep of lawns is done by renters.

Stopped for a quick bite, friendly service. Menu was smaller but our food was fresh hot and good. We would stop back again.
